Oh my, these are good news! Nokia seems to return to the awesome company it once was, offering true after sales support to their fans, as HMD Global recently confirmed that all Nokia Android smartphones will get the official Android P upgrade, by the end of 2018.
We’re talking namely about Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8, a group of phones that have already been highly appraised and know they will have official Android support for updates for one more (full) year. The announcement was made at a Nokia launch event in The Philippines. However, it is not known if the unannounced Nokia 2 which will be its cheapest smartphone will also get the Android P update.
Gizchina News of the week
What’s interesting here, is the fact that HMD Global (and Nokia) already plan to unveil even more devices in 2018, thus making all their portfolio have a number of almost 9-10 devices – all of them upgradeable to Android P! This happens at the time when other companies like Lenovo, OnePlus etc. decide to cut Android P support from last years smartphones.
Way to go Nokia, keep up the good work!
I don’t believe this, until it’s released.
The announcement sounds more like a marketing trick than a serious offer
Me too, they can promise whatever they want, but I doubt they will deliver the updates once Android P is out…
