In choosing a smartphone, its battery may not be the first parameter to consider, however, it is quite important because it will be more than frustrating if your smartphone battery lives for only 120 minutes on full charge. We have seen the likes of Xiaomi, Samsung, Lenovo, Asus and others having smartphones with a battery capacity of over 4000mAh. A certain Oukitel K10000 even have a 10,000 mAh battery capacity. Then what on this green earth is happening to iPhone batteries? So far, iPhones have the smallest batteries in the industry and they do not support fast charge.
Apple attempted to upgrade by equipping its three new models (iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X) with wireless charging and Fast Charge but this is useless because for you to use these features, you will have to buy the accessories which means spending more money. Is it feasible to buy a $1000 iPhone X and still spend more money for charging accessory?
Gizchina News of the week
For potential iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X users, these phones come with 1821mAh, 2675mAh and 2716mAh battery respectively. Below is a list of the battery capacity of iPhone 6,6S, and 7.
- iPhone 6: 1810mAh
- iPhone 6S: 1715mAh
- iPhone 7: 1960mAh
- iPhone 6 Plus: 2915mAh
- iPhone 6S Plus: 2750mAh
- iPhone 7 Plus: 2900mAh
From the above, it appears that the Plus models have the largest battery as iPhone 6 Plus, 6S Plus, 7 Plus, and 8 Plus all seem to have a similar battery. It is worth mentioning that Samsung, Apples greatest competitors has a better battery in its flagship devices. Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8 has 3000mAh, 3500mAh, 3300mAh batteries respectively. These models have large screens and strong performance. We can only hope that Apple takes a closer look at its battery strength because all aspect of the smartphone industry is evolving.
Why would they do that? People will still buy iPhone even if they had a 500mha battery…
Why would they do that? People will still buy iPhone even if they had a 500mha battery…
In article no mention of the reasons…..
I am not a fan of overpriced iphones but this article is completely nuts. The capacity of iphones is lower but they also use less power. They run just as long as a typical android phone. They simply do not need a bigger battery. This little detail is missing in this article.
As long as what?? Excuse me but loooool, my girlfriend has an iPhone 6s and that thing can’t even handle a single day of usage, if you use wifi not even half a day in fact. I bought her a xiaomi max 2 which last 2 days AT LEAST, so please define the ”typical android phone” among the bunch which come out each year
As long as my Xiaomi Mi 5 (compared to Iphone 6 Plus). Said Iphone owner is using a Mi 6 now btw and he says it is better. Iphones not lasting a day is not normal though.
right, it’s not normal, but unfortunately it’s usual. for the price, they are really pissing right onto the customers faces… and they like it
it doesn’t last a day if you use wifi, now if you add gps and bluetooth it becomes ridiculous
You’re right. They’re much more efficient in terms of background usage particularly. It’s like the CPU clocking. Iphones are typically clocked under 2ghz while some androids are clocked at almost 3ghz but despite this, because of the efficiency in design, iPhone models invariably, have a much higher yield in performance. They perform much more instructions per cycle. I can’t quite get exactly how it’s done. I’d imagine it’s possibly to do with having far less bloatware built in, better compatibility in their components, ie, ram and the CPU, better task management software built in as well. It’s a mystery really. It’s like when you use a macbook versus a windows laptop and the laptop has a CPU clocked at a far faster speed and possibly three or four times more ram yet the macbook is quicker. It’s really bizarre. Maybe Apple are just using higher quality hardware components
well… I use a xiaomi hongmi, my gf an iphone 6… iPhone 6 battery life is fucked retarded. She charges it at least, AT LEAST, twice a day. We go on trip somewhere? she fall flat out around noon… seriously… don’t sing too much the Apple song about optimization… doesn’t seem right to my ears. As my gf is a Chinese, you can believe she only buys iphones, despite my sarcasms. And which each iteration, same battery issues coming along. Boring. At some point, I bought her a Hongmi 4 that I force her to take when we go on trips. Because I am tired to have to look for AC outlets everywhere for her to charge.
