We like to run ahead of schedule and – with their launch date scheduled for tomorrow – we… can’t wait and need to ask: do you like the design of the new Pixel phones from Google?
Evan Blass just pulled the curtain on them and just leaked their official renders, so we have a pretty good idea how they will look. One of them is the Pixel 2, manufactured by HTC – yes, it’s that chunky piece of technology with the huge bezels and the small 5 inch full HD display you see below, and the dual color design on its back – available in 3 variants.
Gizchina News of the week
The second is the larger in size Pixel XL 2 model, equipped with a 6â display with 18:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution. This one has narrow bezels but surely we cannot say that they are worthy of a 2017 flagship.
Note that both Pixels get front-firing stereo speakers around their screens, along with Snapdragon 835 chipsets, 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. Rumour has it that their main camera on the back, will offer 12MP resolution photos and 4K videos @ 30fps.
If you’re preparing to buy one of them, then this is of importance: the smaller model (Pixel 2) is expected to cost $650/$750 (for different storage variants) while the Pixel XL 2 will have a price tag of $850/$950 (for different storage variants as well).
So? Let us know what you think!
From the specs and performance point of view it will be like any major flagship device.
But consumers will buy if it looks beautiful to the eyes of the
beholder, unless they are fanboy. Personally to me it looks beautiful from the back, but the
front turns me a bit off due to the huge bezels especially on the top
and bottom. But these are leaked images, so I hope for the best to be
different.
Overpriced and understoraged, I have absolutely no interest in them.
You could get a Xiamoi Mi6 for almost half that price with full ROM control and extra Storage options.
