Many were dismayed when news broke that Microsoft executive, Joe Belfiore used an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S7 as his main smartphones throughout his 9-month leave of absence from Microsoft. It was unusual because Belfiore played an important role in the development of Windows phone. As of now, he uses a Samsung Galaxy S8 loaded with Microsoft software and many still wonder why a man will abandon his creation for someone’s work.
The issue for many fans was around their version changes – from 6.5 to 7 no apps were compatible, from 7 to 8 same story, from 8 to 10 yet again. they couldn’t convince either users or devs that they were serious about the platform.
A real shame as, IMO, the UI was the best of any launcher on any platform.
This is the same company actively pumping ads and forced updates down peoples throats on the desktop. I’m glad they’ve given up personally, hopefully they’ve given up, Google does the same thing but at least Android is open source.
I don’t think any of my Windows 10 machines have ever pumped ads at me…just saying.
