The concept “Made For” in the mobile segment, started some years ago. At this time, was no one else than Apple to start certifying its own portfolio of accessories for its smartphones.
The iPod was the first product to receive those certified products, later the US company expanded it to other handsets. If you recall last year iPhone 7, when Apple dropped the 3.5mm headphone jack, the company launched their own certified wireless ear pods. Eventually, the company received additional revenue from the accessory.

Now seems that Huawei want to take a ride on the own-certified accessories carriage. According to a source inside China, the company just started the Made For Huawei program and the first offering will be a USB-C to HDMI adapter, made for Huawei Mate 10 series.
It is still early to affirm the plans of the Chinese company with this new policy. It can represent a whole new Huawei’s take in offering quality certified product alongside their smartphones or if the company is aiming to take additional revenue over new launches with the Made for Huawei policy.
