The new Moto Mod is a Polaroid Printer for your phone

Motorola has a handful of modular attachments for its Moto Z smartphone line. These attachments, dubbed Moto Mods, expand the functionality of a phone. In this case, the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer, which was announced earlier this year, allows you to capture a photo and print it on 2 x 3-inch ZINK paper.

We’ve known it was coming for a few months, and now it’s available for preorder. It’s got a physical shutter you can use to launch the camera and snap a photo, which it can then print out. In addition to printing photos from the camera roll, it can also print photos from Instagram, Google Photos, and Facebook.

Other Moto Mods have included a nifty 360-degree camera, a short-throw projector, a gaming controller and battery pack, all of which have failed to cause a huge impact in the UK market. This one may be pretty pricey at $200, and it’s also quite bulky, but there’s definitely some appeal to it. Whether it’ll be a success or not, we’ll have to wait and see.
