The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been making the rounds online for weeks now with no indication of a launch. The latest image that was submitted on Slashleaks, shows the display of the Note 5.
The image shows the display of the Redmi Note 5 in all its glory. The top right corner of the phone houses the front camera, while the bottom bezel lacks capacitive navigation buttons replaced by on screen navigation keys. The power and volume control lie on the right side of the frame, which is expected to be made of metal.

The image also shows the about screen of the phone giving us a look at the hardware and software specifications. Accordingly, the Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.99 inch full screen display with a resolution of 216p x 1080 pixels which we speculate have an aspect ratio of 18:9, keeping up with the trend. Under the hood might lie the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with an unreported amount of RAM but 64GB of ROM. It will run Android Nougat 7.1.2 with MIUI 9 on top.
Previous benchmarks reveal that the Redmi Note 5 will sport the Snapdragon 636 and not the 625, and considering the timeline, it makes sense for Xiaomi to use the newer 636 instead of the 625. Right now, we can’t confirm whether this device is actually the Redmi Note 5, so take this report with a pinch of salt.
