A photo of the rear shell of an unknown Meizu smartphone has appeared in images. This might be an upcoming Meizu smartphone with a full screen display.
The rear shell has three cut-outs stacked on top of each other, a design methodology adopted by manufacturers looking to have a dual camera setup on the smartphones and a full screen display intheir smartphones. This means that Meizu’s signature mBack button will either cease to exist or will move to the back as a part of the fingerprint scanner.
Gizchina News of the week
Meizu has made it clear that they won’t be launching any bezel-less/full screen phones this year, so the shell might be from a phone slated for launch next year. The mBack button will stay for all the other devices that sport the traditional 16:9 display. There is a high chance that this might not even be the image of an upcoming device but rather that of a prototype from long back where the 3rd cutout would be used for accommodating the flash. It does have the Meizu branding so the shell might be legit.
Meizu hasn’t given any word on their plans for a bezel-less smartphone, so all we can do is speculate! Watch this space for more.
