EE UK to launch their own smartphone with Fingerprint Sensor and Helio P10

EE is a mobile network operator, internet service and IPTV provider from UK. Not only that, the carrier is the largest one operating in UK with about 29.3 million customers and provides 4G connectivity to the whole Europe.

Apparently, the carrier is about to launch themselves is the competitive smartphone segment. With a EE branded smartphone, the company want to generate some extra income just in time for the holidays season.

Gizchina News of the week

The unnamed EE phone is reported to come with Gorilla Glass coating on both sides, a 5-inch front panel, with probably 720p resolution. Camera wise, the phone should sport a 13MP main rear camera and a 8MP front facing snapper.

In the powerhouse part, we’re pretty shocked by EE choice of chipset. According to the reports the EE smartphone will come packing the 2016’s controversial Helio P10 octa-core processor. Even reaching a low price range, the choice of a relatively old processor will not count in points for potential costumers.

This isn’t the first time that EE tries their sort with own-branded phones, two years ago the carrier ventured itself on the segment with EE’s Harriaer and EE’s Rook. The new EE phone will be sold for $100 on pay-as-you-go and will be offered for free in some other carriers plans. The smartphone is expected to arrive  on the market until the end of December.

$100 for this piece of trash? Thanks EE, you’re really spoiling us. There’s decent cheap phones out there (Xiaomi, Motorola,…), but this junk shouldn’t be sold at the end of 2017
