Several weeks after it first unveiled the Oppo F5, Oppo has finally announced the availability of the Oppo F5 Youth edition. The device is basically the same as the Oppo F5, except that it has a few downgrades in the camera, RAM, and storage size.
Banking on the bezel-less trend, the Oppo F5 youth features the same 6-inch full HD+ screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 and an aspect ratio of 18:9 as the regular Oppo F5. With a screen to body ratio of 84.2 percent, the device has its fingerprint sensor relocated to the rear.
A major highlight of the device is its Facial unlock and the AI Beauty Technology which it claims can identify up to 200 facial recognition spots while clicking selfies and has a customized beauty effect. The device boasts of a downgraded 13MP sensor with LED flash, F/2.2 lens, while it gets a 16MP sensor with F/2.0 aperture and screen flash feature, which brightens up the screen when clicked.

Under its hood, the F5 youth is powered by the same Medtek’s octa-core MT6763T processor supported by 3GB RAM and with 32GB of expandable storage. The device is powered by a 3200mAh battery and boots Android 7.1 with ColorOS 3.2 out of the box.
Price and availability
The Oppo F5 youth is immediately available in the Philippines in Black and Gold color options. It comes with a price tag of PHP13,990 ($275).
