Recently, the 5th China Mobile Global Partner Conference was held in China. Over 3000 manufacturers from every corner of the country took participation. They signed a strategic cooperation agreement for 2018. Among them was Red Pepper (aka ILA aka Xiaolajiao). Many dislike this manufacturer accusing it in copying top brand smartphones. Say, the Xiaolajiao Note 5 is the copy of the Meizu M5 Note. The Xiaolajiao S5 comes with identical features as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. However, this company is trying to find its place under the sun. And its presence at the conference is the best proof of that. As for new products, the manufacturer announce the Red Pepper MOMO, an entry-level smartphone designed for those who has low incomes.
Gizchina News of the week
The Red Pepper MOMO sports a 5-inch screen covered with a 2.5D arc glass. The housing is made of plastic. As for the hardware, it is packed with a 2+32GB or 3+32GB memory combination, 8MP front shooter, 20MP camera module on the back, a built-in 2200mAh battery, and it runs on Android 7.0.
Unfortunately, there is still no info concerning the pricing, but the Red Pepper MOMO is assumed to cost around 599 yuan ($90). If so, what phone it is going to compete with? The name doesn’t allow us to make any assumptions as it was in case of the Note 5. But seems the MOMO targets the companies out of the top list.
