Samsung is poised to launch the Galaxy A5/A7 (2018) by early next year at the latest. But what about the Galaxy A8 (2018)? If you can recall, Samsung last launched the A8 in 2016 and since then there has been no follow up this year. However, a fresh new leak of glass panels attributed to the Galaxy A8 (2018) has just surfaced online.
The front panels allegedly said to belong to the Galaxy A8 clearly show off a thin-bezel display. It is quite similar to the panel of the upcoming A series phones. It is also quite visible that the panel is not curved. Moreover, the top bezel sports two circular cutouts. This means that the leaked panel belongs to a dual selfie camera phone. Also, there is no way to judge the length of the panel, hence we are mostly left with assumptions.
Gizchina News of the week
Since the Galaxy A5, A7 (2018) are largely thought to come with a single selfie shooter, this leaves us with two other options of the A8 & A9. On the flip side, if the Galaxy A7 (2018) does have a dual camera than this panel would likely belong to that device. As of now, there has been not a single indication of the existence of the A8 or A9 (2018). To sum it up, we aren’t sure whether these panels belong to the Galaxy A7/A5 or A8 (2018).
We are aware of speculation that Samsung could scrap the A5/A7 (2018) moniker to make way for a new A8/A8 Plus (2018) label in the A series. However, there is no official evidence to indicate Samsung would make such a move.
We don’t know about you guys, but we’d love to see a Galaxy A9 (2018). Especially considering that its predecessor was a marathon runner and a battery beast.
