Two weeks ago OnePlus revealed to the world, their newest bet in the flagship smartphone segment, the OnePlus 5T. The unveiling happened on November 16 in United States. Two weeks after, it’s time for China have it own official launch of the handset.
OnePlus decided to not only launch the handset on their home country, but also the company has kept a special secret until the occasion. While the OnePlus 5T up to the moment was sold only in Midnight black color, the company will release a new Lava Red option for the Chinese market, starting sales from their fourth anniversary on December 17.
The OnePlus 5T will have a 2,999 Yuan ($454) price tag for the 6GB RAM and 64GB Storage variant, while the higher version with 8GB RAM and 128GB Storage will sell for 3,499 Yuan ($530). The standard Midnight Black variant will start sales from December 1.
Up to the moment there is no info if the Lava Red OnePlus 5T will have a differentiation on its price, but we suppose this may not be the case, otherwise the company would make this clear during unveiling.

In the case you’ve never heard of the OnePlus 5T, let’s recap a little its specifications. The newest flagship brings a 6-inch AMOLED display with 2160x1080p resolution sitting on the current 18:9 standards. The horsepower is ensured by the powerful Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM depending from the variant.
The smartphones feature a dual camera setup which consists in a 20MP sensor and another 16MP unit, specially tweaked for low light photography. On the top bezel of the large display the smartphone brings a 16MP camera for selfies. Keeping all the lights on there is a 3,300mAh battery.
We are yet to see if this newest Red color option will arrive for the western market, but judging by the cool looking wouldn’t be a surprise to find consumers importing it from China in the future.
