LG mobile might have concluded plans to tow the path of Samsung and other industry players by ditching its present basic form of facial unlock as latest reports show that the LG G7 and off course the next generations of LG phones could come with an advanced means of authentication.
A new patent which was reportedly filled by LG suggests that the LG G7 and other LG phones coming later in 2018 and beyond will feature an advanced iris scanning technology that seems to do more than just unlock the phone. The report has it that the filling not only entail the use of biometric authentication through an iris scanner as normal, but can also adjust its reading based on ambient light, for a start, to allow for variations in pupil size and to make sure you can always use the scanner under any lighting condition.

The advanced iris scanner technology Module which was first demoed back in 2016 at the CES can function both a front-facing camera and an iris scanner with the aid of some sort of filter-changing mechanism which makes it possible to switch between the regular and an infrared light when needed. This indeed could help cut down on cost, minimize the number of sensors on the front and off course cut down on bezel size.
While the LG G7 has only just surfaced recently on the rumor mill, we however already know that LG LG 7 might come with, bezel-free designs as well as the newly announced QUALCOMM SD 845 SoC. We are not sure what date the device will drop, but there are speculations that a well as its closest rival the Galaxy S9 could be previewed at CES 2018 in January.
