Who would imagine Samsung being fast in terms of bringing a major Android update in a fast manner for one of its handsets. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a hater or something related, but putting any bias aside the South Korean company never was the faster brand bringing huge updates for their handsets, Galaxy S8 and S8+ beg to differ.
Apparently this is starting to change with their new Beta program. The company released a few weeks ago the first Android 8.0 Oreo beta for both the Galaxy S8 and S8+, today the company is starting the second phase of its Oreo beta program.
The second round of the beta program doesn’t bring any updates to the software, but expand it to other countries. Although Samsung haven’t made any statement about it, a lot of reports coming from India, Germany, France, Spain, and Poland suggests the expansion.
Gizchina News of the week
According to some earlier rumors the Beta program will be also arriving for Chinese users, although at the time of this writing there are no reports coming from the country, the rollout is expected to start very soon.
If you are a Galaxy S8/S8+ owner, live in any of those countries and want to be a part of the Beta program, you must to download Samsung Members app, go to Home, then Notices and finally sign up for the Galaxy Beta program. After you’re fully enrolled you just need to tap settings, about and download the update manually.
The full Oreo stable release for both Galaxy S8 and S8+ is expected to arrive earlier in January 2018, until now we’ll be after the beta destinations closely.
