While researching some news about a Flyme update being rolled out in China today, I decided to pop over to Meizufans.org as they’re the go-to website and forum for all things Meizu, but when I arrived found upsetting news.
A banner at the top of the forum states that Meizufans.org will be shutting down from 1st January 2018. A further blog post written by Rey had this to say about the news:
“We all know, I am not a good writer. However, yet I hope that you will understand the importance of this article.
It will be the last of mine – forever.
Meizufans will seize its operation by the 31st of December. We then will shutdown all of our servers.
The reason for this step is partially personal, but also partially related to the community itself.
While I always had joy and fun working with you, I also had my personal life going on in the background.
Just like yours, it had ups and downs. Good and bad things have happened.

Time passed by, old fans disappeared, new ones came. Its like in our lifes – we meet new people everyday.
After over 4 years, I think that its time to move on as well and close this chapter of my life.
Its time to let it pass and be forgotten. Its time to make new things happen.
Our community was dying. Maybe because of my decisions, but also because of Meizu’s – who knows?
Regardless, I tried the last time to get back in touch with Meizu.
Yet I failed and will no longer deal with Meizu in any way.
Therefore, I will close Meizufans by the end of this year.

It’s always sad to see a community like this disappear and we can understand how painful it might be for the guys behind Meizufans.org to come to this decision after all their years of hard work and dedication to a community and brand.

I remember Rey making posts about how Meizu operated on the inside, him being cheated out of Meizu’s partner list as well as what Li Nan’s role was in the company. I guess, in the end, he just decided to screw the company that screwed him.

Is it impossible to get a firmward download for a MEIZU mini player M6 SL?
If I could get the firmware file, I could replace two files:
resource.bin
M6.EBN
and then my player would work again.
I know it’s an old player, but it works if I had those two files!
Please… can anybody help me get the “M6 SL” firmware?
