Earlier this month, we got some leaked images and spec sheet of an OPPO branded phone with a typical candy bar design albeit the fingerprint scanner and dual camera setup. Oppo has now officially announced the device as the Oppo A83 in addition to other Oppo A series smartphones such as the recently unveiled Oppo A79.
The Oppo A83 which lack the fingerprint scanner highlights an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with support for A.I beauty technology and a new face unlock feature which the company claims can unlock the phone in just 0.18 seconds by scanning 128 feature points on your face.

The device in line with TENAA’s listing flaunts a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Coming to the photographic unit, the new device comes with a single 13-megapixel camera with LED flash on the reverse side, while an 8-megapixel camera with A.I beatifying technology sits above the display.
It is powered by a 3180mAh battery, runs on Android 7.1 out of the box and comes with various connectivity features including 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Wi-Fi Direct.
Available in Champagne Gold and Black color options, the Oppo A83 is immediately available for pre-order in China and goes on sale from December 29th with 1399 yuan (US$ 212 / Rs. 13,630 approx.) price tag.
