Current information suggests that the Google might be adding another device powered by Intel’s Apollo Lake processor to its Chromebook ecosystem. The recent exposure surfaced on Chromium code repository but the strange thing is that it is called “Baby Mako” which is different from the previous Chromebook called Coral even though their specs are similar save the battery. Since the Chromebook’s code does not specify a single processor, we only know that this device will be powered by at least one processor from the Apollo Lake range
Gizchina News of the week
There are a series of Chromebooks powered by Apollo Lake chipset. They have a wide range of hardware specification and price tag thus nothing can be safely assumed in respect of its price. Chrome Unboxed pointed out that many Apollo Lake Chromebooks uses codenames that emanates from a character roster in the popular mobile game, Hungry Shark. However, it appears that Baby Mako is probably an exception as it is a secondary character which cannot be played on its own because it is an accessory to the larger Mako Shark. This strongly implies that the expected Chromebook is simply a smaller version of a pre-existing or an expected Chromebook.
