Another smart speaker is about to join up the growing party of talking smart devices. Today it’s time for Xiaomi to join up the gang with a new smart speaker called Xiaomi Yeelight.
This speaker shares semblances with the Amazon Echo, presenting the same round design. Furthermore the device brings the same LED Ring and top placed Volume Controls. Besides the design similarities, the Xiaomi Yeelight is powered by the same Smart Assistant present in Echo, the Amazon’s own smart AI, Alexa.

Specs-wise the device is powered by a Quad-Core 1.3Ghz CPU paired with 256MB of RAM and 256MB of internal storage. Yeelight also counts with totally six microphones capable of listening any sound in a range of 5 meters. The device is able to connect to any handset through 4GHz/5Ghz dual-band Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The smart speaker also brings Acoustic Echo Cancellation and Beamforming technology to reduce any kind of echo or noise in the sound. Lastly, but not least the Xiaomi Yeelight brings a dual-AI function turning it capable to control other Xiaomi’s automated products.
Launching price for the Speaker will be 199 Yuan (~$30) and the sales are scheduled to start on January 31 through Xiaomi Online Store.
