Last month, Samsung unveiled two new smartphones as part of its 2018 Galaxy A series line up — the Galaxy A8 (2018), and the Galaxy A8+ (2018), and at launch, Samsung had promised that the device will hit the shelves in January.
Now, the latest information from Korea says the device will be available to buy soon in Samsung’s Home – South Korea. The report has it that the Galaxy A8(2018) will be offered in partnership with mobile carrier KT Corp, with Samsung already accepting pre-orders of the Galaxy A8 (2018) from today, and deliveries set to begin on Friday 5th January 2018. Unfortunately, though, the report is silent on whether the plus Galaxy A8+ (2018) will be made available in the Home country of Korea.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) pricing in South Korea is pegged at 599,500 won (~$560) with varying degree of discounts depending on the carrier plans. The device can be picked up in three color variants: black, blue and gold colors.

The A8 (2018) arrives with Infinity Display design, Samsung Pay, and Gear VR support and at the moment the only device from the company to come with dual front-facing cameras.
Powered by Exynos 7885 chipset coupled with 4 GB of RAM, the A8 (2018) flaunts a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, while the while the A8+ stretches to 6″ display. Both devices run on Android Nougat out of the box and have a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, and 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual front cameras, both with f/1.9 aperture. The smaller A8(2018) gets a 3,000mAh battery, while the plus size variant gets a slightly larger 3500mAh battery with adaptive fast charging.
We currently have no details on Samsung’s plan to roll out these devices to Europe or US, but more details should be made available at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 where they are expected to be showcased.
