Back in 2017 at the China Mobile Global Partnership Event the world’s largest mobile operator, China Mobile announced its own first smartphone. Today the China Mobile A4 has gone on sale officially. And though this is a very entry-level device at a quite affordable price tag, there is every chance to make this brand very popular in every corner of the globe.
The China Mobile A4 sports a 5-inch HD resolution screen covered with a 2.5D arc glass. The phone is packed with a Spreadtrum SC9832A chip, which is paired with a 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB of intern storage (for the standard version) and a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (for the high version). There is also a 2800mAh battery providing up to 2 days of normal use, and it runs on AliOS bringing many goodies including a remote assistance and many more. As for the camera, the China Mobile A4 features a 2MP front camera sporting a f/2.2 aperture and 85 degrees of wide-angle, and 5MP rear camera with aaf/2.0 aperture. The higher variant comes with a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera.

The body is made of metal, and there are three color options to choose from – Streamer Gold, Moon Silver, and Deep Space Gray. The higher variant of the China Mobile A4 also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back.
The phone is already available for purchase at a price tag of 499 yuan ($77). The Chine Mobile A4 is going to make a tough competition to the Xiaomi Redmi line handsets. Although, there are real differences between their hardware and build quality.
I just got one. It’s a great phone. I was just going to use it as a cryptocurrency wallet with no SIM (half the price of a Ledger wallet) but it is wayyyy to good for just that and might actually use it as a phone.
