We all knew it was coming, Suning already revealed all there is to know about the device, but it is always good to hear from the source. HMD Global has today officially unwrapped a refresh and the sequel to its 2017 mid-range smartphone – the Nokia 6 (2018). The device has a unibody design crafted out of a 6000 series aluminum chassis – a product of a two-color anodization process and diamond cutting technology.
Unsurprisingly, the device retains the traditional 16: 9 ratio design element, but has now ditched the capacitive touch buttons below the display in favor of on-screen buttons, while the fingerprint scanner has found a location to the rear.
The highlight of the Nokia 6 (2018) is the presence of a Dual-Sight technology that is only presently found in Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. It uses both front and rear cameras simultaneously directly from your camera app to create Bothie – a split screen visual for both photos and videos. It features a 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear features dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 1.0um pixel size, while the front camera features 1.12 pixel size, and 84° wide-angle lens.

Inside the aluminum unibody design is a 5.5-inch 1080p display covered with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Nokia 6 (2018) will sadly boot Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with a Snapdragon 630 Mobile platform coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage expandable to 128 GB via a micro-SD card.
The device has almost the same battery capacity as the Nokia 8 – 3,000 mAh non-battery with fast charging technology that can supposedly charge up to 50% in 30 minutes. Connectivity options include a 3.5 mm jack, a type-C port, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
