HMD Global a few hours ago lifted the veil off its second-generation Nokia 6 smartphone, which brings with it a few changes in its outlook. Precisely, the fingerprint sensor on the Nokia 6 (2018) referred to by the maker as Nokia 6 2nd generation has now been relocated to its rear, while the capacitive keys have been ditched in favour of on-screen navigation buttons which HMD Global considers bring the phone closer to the Stock Android experience.

Design aside, what you might find odd is that the Nokia 6 (2018) as reflected on the spec sheet was announced with Android 7.1.1 Nougat as the OS. That sounds a bit disappointing, especially considering the fact that Android Oreo has been out for a while now, and virtually all the first generation of Nokia smartphones are already been updated to the latest OS, however, HMD Global promised to roll out the Oreo update as soon as possible.
Keeping to its promise, reports coming out from China indicates that the Nokia 6 (2018) is getting the Android Oreo update on the first boot. Same sources also have it that the China-exclusive Nokia 6 (2018) comes with optional support for Google services, but can’t be uninstalled installation.
