Nokia 6 In India Receives Oreo Beta

HMD Global has put in a lot of effort to return the Nokia brand to its past glory. The company is not only unveiling lovable smartphones, it is also releasing updates for its devices. About a year ago, Nokia released the Nokia 6 and this smartphone came with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with a planned upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo). Nokia 6 (2018) recently updated straight to Android 8.0 Oreo on first boot. Now, the company is currently keeping its promise by rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update to the 2017 Nokia 6 devices in India. Nokia CPO, Juho Sarvikas, took to his official Twitter handle to inform us that this update is part of a Beta Lab program.

In December last year, the registration for the Oreo Beta Labs update commenced and all units from India who registered on Nokia’s official website are now getting the update. Well, there is no official date for the release of the final version but Nokia said it is “well on track”.

The Nokia 6 is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant. All versions are expandable to 256GB via SD card. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1080 x 1920 pixels display resolution. In the camera department, it comes with a 16MP rear camera supported by an 8MP selfie snapper. The lights of the Nokia 6 are kept on by a removable 3000mAh battery. This device is a dual Nano SIM smartphone which has Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G Networks. Other features include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
