Samsung’s premium A series of phones that was hurriedly launched in December 2017, has now started selling in the Netherlands. Well, to be more precise, just one of them, called the Galaxy A8 (2018). The series has also undergone some rebranding in addition to getting a big cosmetic makeover. Days, earlier, the pre-orders in South Korea also kicked off. Now, that it’s listed on Samsung’s Netherlands website, it should soon make its way to other European nations.
Gizchina News of the week
The launch of the series is definitely good news but the price tag you’ll hear shortly doesn’t seem very mid-range at all. The price of the A series has continued to rise since the first generation but here is where we think it is a bit too much. The Galaxy A8 is listed with a 599 Euro price tag (around $595). That’s the price you can get a decent Galaxy S8 in some parts of Europe. And that’s just the price of the smaller sibling of the Galaxy A8 +. We can imagine the Galaxy A8+ to cost even more. Right now, It’s available in three colours of Black, Blue, and Gold. It will also be made available in India tomorrow. There isn’t any word on the availability of the Galaxy A8 + as of yet.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) comes with dual front-facing cameras, a first for any Samsung phone. It also features a borderless design, waterproofing, and fast charge as its highlighted features. For more specs related info, you can look at this article here.
