For the joy of many, the UMIDIGI S2 Lite will come with a clean Android ROM, so no more UMI OS, which was what the company equipped their smartphone with in 2017. UMIDIGI will release all the specifications on January 15th, this means we’re only a couple days away from the official launch.

Gizchina News of the week

Other than the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, the Chinese phone maker also announced that the UMIDIGI S2 Lite will support 3D Face ID, which should offer an higher security rate. The 3D Face ID supports what they call “body recognition technology”, which they refer as 2nd generation facial recognition technology. So if you are worried about the level of security of Face ID, maybe this new type of face recognition technology will earn your trust.

Beyond 3D Face ID and the OS it’ll run on, we expect the smartphone to sport a full-screen design and a huge battery capacity of 5100mAh. It’ll also be interesting to see how the Omnivision dual-lens camera performs as they have promised better image results than what you’d get with other sensors.
