EMUI 8.0 coming to the Honor 8 Pro, Honor 8 Lite, Honor 9i, and Honor 7X


Huawei is all set to bring machine learning power to a host of its Honor devices, as per the company’s announcement. EMUI 8.0 – Huawei’s proprietary skin over Android 8.0 that first saw the light of day with the Mate 10 line will soon make its way to the Honor 8 Pro, Honor 8 Lite, Honor 9i, and Honor 7X, as confirmed by Huawei. This is really great news as EMUI 8.0 is not only based on Android Oreo, some of its new AI features are really good. Some of them include smart resource management, intelligent context awareness, smart tips, real-time scene-recognition and a lot more. That’s aside from the obvious perks Android Oreo will bring to the table.

However, it’s still not known when these devices will get the OTA update. But some like the Honor 8 Pro are already on the beta version. The recently launched Honor View 10 and the Honor 9 Lite (launching soon in India) already have EMUI 8.0 baked in the hardware.

Speaking about EMUI 8.0’s AI infused prowess, a Huawei rep said, “The upgraded EMUI 8.0 is avant-garde technological software which is efficient, secure and above all, user-friendly. Eradicating lag, they can witness a faster and smarter phone experience, powered by advanced AI technological features. The update significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function through its smart applications like navigation dock and smart screen and enables the user to reach 90% of the core functions in just a single click. We have developed the EMUI 8.0 for those who live and work on-the-go.”
