Fast charging is a really interesting technology but you won’t really notice a difference if you have a phone with a smaller battery. On the opposite side, fast charging technology becomes a “must” when we begin to talk about phones with big batteries, such as the Ulefone Power 3. Since the phone is equipped with the tech, Ulefone decide to compare it with the latest Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus to give us a demonstration. Let’s watch it!
As we previously mentioned, the Ulefone Power 3 packs a big battery; how big you may ask? Well, the phone boasts a massive 6080mAh capacity battery and features a new 5V/3A fast charging technology. Meanwhile the Redmi 5 Plus fueled by a 4000mAh battery supports 5V/2A fast charge.
As we see in the video, the test kicks off with both phones on 50% charge. After 5 minutes of charging, the batteries of the both phones reach 55%, 15 minutes later, both batteries climbs to 65%; and half an hour later, the battery of the Power 3 jumps up to 81% while the battery of the Redmi 5 Plus reaches only 74%. Finally, 45 minutes later, the Power 3 is fully charged while the battery of the Redmi 5 Plus reaches merely 81%.
Gizchina News of the week
Considering the gap in battery capacity and that the Ulefone Power 3 still managed to charge faster, we can conclude that 5V/3A technology is quite impressive and it makes a huge difference. It’s also worth mentioning that compared to the 5V/2A charging solution, the 5V/3A fast charge that relies on larger electric current instead of larger voltage, which is much safer and will prevent the phone from getting hot when charging.
