Samsung has today announced the Galaxy Note 8 PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games Limited Edition ahead of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics game. Samsung is one of the official sponsors of the 2018 Olympics game and is releasing the device at this point to help athletes stay connected, capture and “share one of the most memorable moments of their lives.”
The South Korean giant says about 4000 units of the device as well as matching cases that feature the Paralympic Games logo will be made available to competing athletes and staff members before the commencement of the game holding in PyeongChang later in February.
Gizchina News of the week
The Galaxy Note 8 PyeongChang 2018 Olympics Games limited edition is virtually the same as the extra large Galaxy Note8 announced back in 2017, but with some sort of refinement in the design. The Galaxy Note 8 PyeongChang 2018 Olympics Games limited edition now gets a shiny white back glass to represent snow and wintertime, adorned with a gold Olympics logo, the frame is now coated with Gold, while the S pen also gets a matching Gold and white coloration. Aside the preloaded PyeongChang 2018 themed wallpapers and apps, the limited edition device shares same internal configuration with the base Galaxy Note 8.
The device will be exclusively available to Olympics athletes and staff, but we do hope the device will be released to the public like it did to the 2016 Olympics edition Galaxy S7 Edge.
