As many as 4 devices were launched today, three of which have been in India. One of them is the Oppo A83. Already launched in China, the Oppo A83 is the company’s bet for the super competitive sub-15k segment in India. The MediaTek chip-powered handset is priced at Rs 13,990. There are no variants here. The handset comes in just a 3 GB + 32 GB version.
Coming to the standout features of the handset, the first thing that comes to mind is face unlock. The Oppo A83 bids farewell to the fingerprint reader completely to replace it with AI-powered face recognition. Oppo says it works well in dim-light conditions. Another highlight of the handset according to Oppo is the immersive display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It’s a 5.7-inch Full HD+ (1440 x 720) LCD panel, so no, we’re not impressed. No Oppo phone can be devoid of selfie – expertise. Hence, the Oppo A83 is packed with AI beautification and other software features for selfies.
