Since the Ulefone Armor 2 features an IP68 rating, the smartphone does have excellent waterproofing, dust-proofing and shatter-resistance characteristics, but that’s not all of it. The handset can also survive at extreme temperatures between -40C to a maximum of 80C.
In the past, we have seen the Armor 2’s waterproofness get tested in a video in which it was placed in a pan filled with boiling water, so it’s fairly reasonable that today we have a new one in which the Armor 2 was subjected to a rather low temperature.
As shown in the video, the Armor 2 along with two rivals, iPhone 7 and Oneplus 5 is put in the freezer with the temperature set to as low as -20 centigrade. 5 minutes later, the three devices are taken out from the freezer and we can find that the iPhone 7 has been turned off, the display on the Oneplus 5 fails to respond to tap, meanwhile the Armor 2 turns out to work pretty well and is not damaged in any way.
Ulefone attribute this to the housing made of flexible TPU, with some parts in glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate material and metal. So the Armor 2 can withstand extreme temperatures in which other smartphones would probably die.
