The Galaxy Note 8 may be Sammy’s latest and most sophisticated device in the Galaxy Note series, but it appears the device hasn’t been given a fair treatment when it comes to getting timely security updates. The company after pushing the updates to older devices as well as less priced Galaxy phones is now reportedly pushing the much needed January update to the flagship Galaxy Note 8.
Gizchina News of the week
The update which is currently rolling out to the Galaxy Note 8 units in France is about 707 MB and contains only the Android security patch for the month of January which fixes six critical Android vulnerabilities and 13 exploits in Samsung’s propriety skin, along with various other minor exploits, details of which can be found at Samsung’s official website for security patch information.
If you happen to a Galaxy Note 8 in France and yet to be prompted for the update, you can head into your Settings, then About device where you can check for the update. Due to its enormous size, we strongly advise that you only initiate the update to a fully charged Note 8 connected to a Wi-Fi network.
As previousy noted, the update is at the moment rolling out to users in France but should extend to other countries/regions in the following days.
