The RED Hydrogen One, that has been up for pre-order since last year, will finally see the light of the day this year. There is no report on the specs and other details of the phone, except that it will be offered in two variants, Titanium and Aluminium, which are priced at $1595 and $1195 respectively.
The camera equipment manufacturer has been tight lipped about the phone’s specs, but in a recent post on the RED user forums from Jim Jannard, the company’s founder, threw more light on the upcoming smartphone. He wrote that the President of the Company, Jarred Land and he both carry the near-final prototypes of the Hydrogen One, mentioning that it is exactly the phone that they have ever wanted.
The specs that were revealed include:
Gizchina News of the week
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for all variants
- Headphone jack
- Expandable storage
- 4500mAh battery
Other than that, the post hinted towards a display that is slightly bigger than most 5.7-inch phones, about 2oz more and a tad thicker, solid body. The only render of the phone that’s present does show quite a handful of a phone. The RED Hydrogen One will be capable of recording 3D 4V video with both the front and back cameras and its “holographic” screen will display it in layers of pixels.
Jannard also assured that carrier support is coming, with the pre ordered models coming a little bit before them. RED will be holding a Hydrogen Day at RED studios, where they will showcase the hardware to the customers who have pre ordered the phone. You can check out the complete post here.
