The latest drone has been designed with improved flight performance in mind. It got an  ActiveTrack intelligent flight mode which the company says has been optimised to automatically sense multiple subjects, following your subject and keeping it in the frame with more precision, especially during high motion activities like running and cycling. There is also an improved dual camera vision which enables it to detect obstacles up to 20m away, while the improved flight assistant system enables it to automatically avoid such obstacles.

The Mavic Air trounce both the Mavic Pro and Mavic Spark in terms of performance, it can fly at 42.5 miles per hour (68 kph) in Sport mode, operate in winds of up to 22 miles an hour (36 kph), rise up to 16,404 feet (5,000m) above sea level, cover a range of 2.5 miles, and can be airborne up to 21 minutes in a single charge.

From a distance of up to 6M users can use a hand gesture to launch, follow, photograph, record, push, pull and land the Mavic Air. The Mavic Air comes with a remote with detachable control sticks that can be stored inside the remote controller for added portability. Its omnidirectional antennas placed on the foldable landing gear help increase signal coverage to deliver a maximum range of up to 2.5 miles (4km)[3]  with 720p real-time video transmission when flying with the remote controller.

The DJI Mavic Air with the standard kit that includes the drone, battery, remote controller, carrying case, two pairs of propeller guards and four pairs of propellers is priced at about $800, while the Fly More Combo with two extra batteries, a travel bag instead of the case, six pairs of propellers, a battery to power bank adapter ad battery charging hub goes for about $1000.
