Gizchina News of the week
“The different achievements in this country, including in science, art and the academic field make it an ideal place for the creation of a centre of theoretical research in artificial intelligence,”
Earlier this week, the French President welcomed about 140 multinational business leaders to Paris for a meeting preceding the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday. This will be Google’s third AI centre worldwide after California and Switzerland. Although Google is not going to move to a new location for the project as the company stated that it will simply expand its headquarters in Paris to create space for the project. The creation of this centre will require an initial workforce of 300 persons which will take the total staff in Google Paris headquarters to 1000. With Facebook investing EUR 10 million (roughly Rs. 78 crores) by 2022 in its Paris AI center and also increasing the researchers from 30 to 60, it appears that there will be a strong competition in Paris.
