Xiaomi has just announced the next major version of its Android-based MIUI custom OS. The announcement was made earlier today by co-founder and senior vice-president of Xiaomi Hong Feng, who coincidentally is the head of the company’s MIUI business unit at the 2017 summary meeting.
The latest version of Xiaomi’s custom Android OS and successor to the MIUI 9 is dubbed MIUI 10, and not MIUI X as it was previously rumored. The company hasn’t revealed any details of the MIUI 10 but said the main development team will immediately swing into action. There are speculations that the biggest update to the Xiaomi MIUI 10 will be centered on artificial intelligence, as earlier hinted by representative Huong Zhong back in 2017.
Gizchina News of the week
It was only a couple of days ago the company put an end to the MIUI 9 development when it released a couple of devices which can be upgraded to the latest MIUI 9.
While we await the final design and development of the MIUI 10, do let us know what you think should be improved in MIUI 9. Is A.I really that important a feature that you would want to have? Let us know in the comments below!
The design should be rebuilt from the ground up!
And especially, the notification area. Xiaomi should upload the current design to the Google Play Store for people who want too colorful-semi childish design, and not to include that on its upcoming phones.
Personally, I prefer stock Android (or almost stock). I use OnePlus 5 with OxygenOS 5.0.1 – nearly stock Android, but I got to know MIUI 8 and MIUI 9 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (both) because my mother has a redmi note 4.
MIUI is the worst thing in it. And the worst thing in MIUI is the design. Hope Xiaomi to change the design, to cause MIUI to have less presence.
