Microsoft had apparently developed the Xbox watch, which never saw the light of the day. But Twitter user, @Hikari_Calyx secured several units and shared the images of the watch that got scrapped by Microsoft.
The Xbox watch seems of modest size with a square shaped body and thick bezels around the display. The watch features a tile based UI. The live images are proof that the watch features in-built GPS, a calorie counter and a heart rate sensor which is located on the back of the smartwatch. The watch features a black colored front and a silver coloured rear. Also visible is a 4-pin charging connector. The resolution on this one is quite horrible though. The tile based UI seems to be inspired by the Windows 8/10 and other Windows operating systems.
Gizchina News of the week
Had this watch been released, it would’ve succeeded the Microsoft Band 2. Microsoft decided to jump off the fitness band wagon and discontinued it’s line of wearables. There was no word from Microsoft regarding the existence of an Xbox watch. I guess we can only but ponder as to why the production never took flight. What do you think about the watch that never came to be? Let us know in the comments below!
Sensible Microsoft. I just said that.
