Nokia 5 starts to receive Oreo Stable release

Nokia 5

HMD is doing an outstanding job by putting Android updates for its smartphones as a top priority. The company already delivered the latest Oreo update for several smartphones in their lineup. Yesterday the Nokia 6 (2017) started to receive the latest Google’s cookie, today it’s time for the Nokia 5 be graced with the update as well.

Nokia 5 arrived alongside the Nokia 6 (Global Version), Nokia 3 and Nokia 3310 during the MWC 2017. The 5.2-inch HD smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 430 paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage. Furthermore, the smartphone carries a 16MP main rear camera and a 13MP front-facing snapper. All the lights are kept by a 3,000mAh battery. These specs together make the Nokia 5 a good choice for those looking for an affordable, not so big, decent smartphone.

Gizchina News of the week

HMD states that the update notification may not appear immediately for all Nokia 5 devices. Considering the fact that the Oreo release is rolling out in a gradual form, it may take a while to arrive for all models. With the Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 being scrapped from the list of Oreo update, only Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 remain. Worth to mention that both smartphones will start the beta testing phase in the coming days.
