This all began when an Xiaomi shared an image with the tagline “Ciao! Italia” on their global Facebook page. While the post is now deleted, it’s hard to see this as anything other than a deliberate way to fire up hype for the company’s official arrival in Italy.
Gizchina News of the week
There’s no official word on what Xiaomi will sell through its physical store but if its Spain operation is any indication it could sell Mi and Redmi phones as well as other tech and accessories. These should come with official warranty and dedicated service centers, which would make things much easier for Italian Mi Fans.
Overall, this week has been a pretty positive one for Mi Fans all around, with the MiA1’s source code having been released, the Redmi 5 becoming more easily available and this news of Xiaomi’s Italy arrival. We’re definitely looking forward to see where Xiaomi goes from here.
