Rumours of the Mi Mix 2S have been floating around for some time. However, owing to the fact that Xiaomi has never refreshed a flagship twice in one year, we’ve remained sceptical. But the leaks remain adamant. A known tipster has posted some AnTuTu scores of an alleged handset codenamed ‘Polaris’. According to the tipster, the device is the Mi Mix 2S.

Gizchina News of the week
This is the first time we’ve heard that the Mi Mix 2S is dubbed Polaris, so we’re naturally unsure about this leak. Regardless of the codename, the device clocked some impressive AnTuTu scores, as you can see. Xiaomi is expected to beef up the Mi Mix 2S so it is a worthy upgrade over the Mi Mix 2. Most noteworthy would be the addition of the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC.
Apart from that, the alleged handset remains largely in the shadows in this era of rampant leaks. Personally, I’d love it if Xiaomi comes up with an even better bezel-less design than the Mi Mix 2. Recently, we saw a leaked render that depicted what the Mi Mix 2S would look like. In essence, it got rid of all bezels and had a small notch on the upper top side of the phone for the front cam.
Talk around town is that Xiaomi might show off the handset at MWC 2018. Whether it actually does or not, we’ll find out in a couple of weeks.
