The Mi Mix 2s is becoming more and more of a serious real product as we get closer to Mobile World Congress. We had earlier doubted the existence of such a device especially with no official hints about the phone anywhere. Moreover, this would be a first time where Xiaomi refreshes Mi Mix series in a mere 6 months time. Hence it sounded unusual.
But here we are with an official-looking product banner. The banner is not actually official but it made its way to Weibo yesterday and looks like the real thing said tradesignshop.co.uk.
The supposed specs of the device that were revealed a day back have only added to the anticipation of the phone. As for the banner leak, it is similar to what we’ve been reporting since last year, at least on the front. Xiaomi’s plan is to get rid of the bezels not with a central notch but by a tiny cutout on the top right side of the Mi Mix 2s for the selfie camera. The earpiece will be at the centre similar to the Mi Mix 2. Of course, this is one of the most innovative designs we’ve seen, one that looks much better than a notch.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the specs, expect top of the line hardware with the Snapdragon 845 at the heart of the smartphone. Rumours are calling the new bezel-free design as Full screen 3.0. An under-display fingerprint scanner is being tipped for the flagship device. That is quite possible now that the components of the tech are now ready for OEMs. On the camera front, the rumours are divided. The latest one states that the Mi Mix 2s will house dual rear shooters with Sony IMX363 sensors. The banner reveals a 5.99-inch screen, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB of storage.
These specs along with the design could obviously give any other flagship in 2018 a run for its money. That’s why we’re pretty interested to see the device. Let’s hope we see it at the MWC expo or earlier. Earlier reports hinted that it might also get revealed even before the expo. Fingers crossed for that!
