For a certain period of time, we were worried Xiaomi would copy the iPhone X notch on the Redmi Note 5 like so many manufacturers are doing today. Thankfully, the Chinese manufacturer has not done that, but it does take design cues of the iPhone X rear camera. In fact, if you take a look at the images below, the Redmi Note 5 Pro camera is the spitting image of the iPhone X. Sadly, this is the only angle or picture we have right now. If you want a close look at the front screen, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
Gizchina News of the week
We earlier gave our readers a first glance at the whole spec sheet of the Redmi Note 5 Pro as well its smaller brother. The highlight of the Redmi Note 5 Pro will undoubtedly be the camera. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has long been lagging in that department and it is good to see the company upping the game in that aspect.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro rea camera consists of dual 12MP + 5MP snappers with f/2.2 and f/2.0 apertures respectively. While the front camera is also a significant upgrade with a 20MP Sony IMX376 shooter. We’ll still have to wait for a hands-on of the new hardware to really say how much of a difference this new setup will make. But we are optimistic of the Redmi Note 5 Pro prospects this year more than any other Redmi Note device.
As for other specs, the Redmi Note 5 Pro boasts of a Snapdragon 636 SoC, 3GB/4GB/6GB variants. For price details, we’ll have to wait until the company launches the duo tomorrow.
