LeEco, the rogue Chinese smartphone maker is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone called Le X. The electronics giant has been in bad financial shape since last year and has not launched any smartphones since quite a time. However, there seemed to be signs of renewed life at the end of the year as the company launched ten new TVs.
These new images of the purported Le X come from Weibo and are quite detailed. From the looks of it, the Le X comes with extremely thin bezels. No points for guessing the aspect ratio of the display here. We’ve expected this thin-bezel trend to escalate in 2018 and surely that will happen as we progress further. Moreover, the display is remarkably curved at the corners. Interestingly, there’s no fingerprint scanner in sight anywhere on the handset. This does point to a possible Synaptics module. However, given the company’s financial woes, that would be a bit hard to do so.
Gizchina News of the week
The rear has a plain simple texture with just dual cameras and a dual LED flash sitting alone all by themselves. Its a pity LeEco has suffered a cash crunch. The phone maker did come up with some great smartphones before it was hit by the debt burden.
This particular phone seems to be a top of the line device or at least a mid-ranger from the company. However, there is the question of authenticity about these renders. Since this is the first instance of the Le X, there’s no information regarding its specifications or price tag. However, if this is a legit leak, then other details should follow soon.
