Up till now, we’ve been fed a healthy dose of Mi Mix 2s rumours and supposed official-looking renders to believe it is real. However, as far as leaks go, nothing is confirmed. Today, we’ve come across actual evidence that the Mi Mix 2s is not another imaginary device conjured up by a smartphone fanatic. Yes folks, the Mi Mix 2s is very real.
Thanks to firmware files that were handed down to XDA by @FunkyHuawei, we can now take a sigh of relief. According to XDA, they’ve received firmware files of the Mi Mix 2s that runs Treblized Android Oreo. Not only do the firmware files confirm the existence of the handset, it also confirms some noteworthy specs.

Most importantly, the Mi Mix 2s indeed does house the Snapdragon 845 SoC. Moreover, it is also now confirmed that the Mi Mix 2s is powered by a 3,400mAh battery. The full-screen handset has a Full-HD+ resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio or 2160×1080p to be precise.
But wait, there’s more. A decompilation of the camera app revealed AI features like scene recognition. The report states that it is very likely that the Mi Mix 2s will feature a Sony IMX363 sensor which has been rumoured many times before.Other extra features found in the firmware were dual-SIM support, IR balster and an LED light.
The Mi Mix 2s has largely been rumoured to launch at MWC 2018. Some tipsters even believe it will be launched earlier than that. Whichever way it is, we’re glad to hear that it is coming. More likely than not, we’ll have to wait very little to finally witness it in the flesh.
