Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to unveil the Moto E5 series, Moto G6 series, Moto X5 and Moto Z3 series smartphones this year. However, popular leakster @HeyAndri has suggested that these are the only smartphones to be released by the company this year. He also gave salient information on the major expectations from these smartphones
- Moto E Series (probably Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play) to come with basic specs and large battery.
- Moto G6 Series to sport two-year-old flagship specs.
- Moto X5 is the flagship high-end phone.
- Moto Z series was designated as “being futuristic tech” which could mean support for on-screen fingerprint sensors which have not been widely used for now as well as support MotoMods accessories along with flagship specs.
From previous reports, Moto E5 will be powered by a MediaTek processor coupled with a 5-inch display. Moto G6 and G6 Plus may be powered by a Snapdragon 630 and 450 chipsets respectively and both phones are expected to highlight a 5.93-inch FHD+ resolution display. As for Moto G6 Play, rumors have it that it will be powered by a low-end Snapdragon 430 chip with a 5.7-inch HD display. The G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play are speculated to cost around $265, $235 and 187 respectively.
Not much information is available for flagship Moto X5 but this smartphone is expected to use an iPhone X-like notch-design coupled with quad cameras. “Futuristic” Moto Z series (Moto Z3 and Z3 Play) are expected to sport the best processor there is in the market – Snapdragon 845 coupled with a 6-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio display. The Z3 models will include support for MotoMods accessories.
