What can we expect from Vernee during the MWC 2018 ?

Vernee

The MWC 2018 event in Barcelona will open the doors in a week on February 26th and for more or less any phone brand it’s a matter of pride to make some solid showing there. Vernee is of course no different and the chinese brand is planning to bring some major news and changes to their lineup with presenting in person two fresh new models there. Those will be Vernee V2 and Vernee Apollo 2.

But first of all they are planning to slightly redesign their lineup series names to fit into the new plan. Series T (formerly Thor) will be focusing on long battery life smartphones with affordable pricing, series M (formely Mars) will try to cater to the young customers chasing slim, fashionable and creative design models, while series V will be light business style rugged models with IP68 certification and flagship level hardware. The real flagship line is then reserved for the unchanged Apollo models with cutting-edge tech.

Gizchina News of the week

So back to the details about the new handsets. Vernee V2 is going to be the second rugged model from the brand following the Active piece and should be equipped with the Helio P23 processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage or 18:9 screen and four camera design. As mentioned before the rugged tag is guaranteed by the IP68 certification.

Vernee Apollo 2 is finally here too after a long time in development and should be quite something. It will come with 5,99-inch Sharp TDDI 18:9 screen and full metal body design, Helio X30 deca-core processor, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, 16MP+13MP rear cameras, 8MP front camera, Pump Express dual channel 24W fast charging technology and Android 8.1 Oreo as the system.

There will surely be more coming from the Vernee brand so we are looking forward to the MWC 2018 and our man running point there will surely bring some direct news from them in the coming days.

The Apollo 2 is now an example of smartphone vaporware. Though, I’d personally love to try another Helio X30 phone which isn’t a Meizu and doesn’t have a fragile second screen. I think its price will play a major role in its sales numbers, because this is basically an LG G6 on a MediaTek, a phone that’s released too little too late to be a worthy contender to the newer devices.
