We recently had a massive leak of Sony’s Xperia XZ2 yesterday. Not only renders of the device were exposed but we were also treated to a detailed spec sheet of the device as well. However, its smaller sibling, the Xperia XZ2 Compact remained out of sight. Today, we’re looking at the first HD renders of the Xperia XZ2 Compact. The images are so detailed, they seem like actual press renders. Speaking of which, we’re expecting both the above-mentioned devices to make an appearance at MWC.
Gizchina News of the week
Coming back to the images, the Xperia XZ2 sports an 18:9 aspect ratio display unsurprisingly. At least, we’re seeing something new from the generations-old OmniBalance design. It isn’t visible at first glance but reports hint to a polycarbonate body on the phone. The handset now also has a rear fingerprint sensor along with a single rear camera at the back. The “S Force” stereo speakers are also clearly visible but it remains to be seen whether their quality has improved from last time.
The handset has been exposed to come in four colours, Green, Black, Silver, and Pink. In terms of specs, we’re aware that the Xperia XZ2 Compact will be a beast powered by a Snapdragon 845 CPU. It will also run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo software same as the Xperia XZ2. It is believed to sport a smaller 5-inch display which presumably Full-HD+ resolution and 2,780mAh battery powering the internals.
We expect Sony to launch both devices soon at MWC coming up in a couple of days. There’s also a third mystery device which could launch alongside the duo. Stay tuned for the awesome stuff coming up next week.
