A new report that emerged from the just concluded MWC 218 suggests that ZTE plans to ditch the Nubia UI in favor of stock Android for its global devices, citing users quest for faster and regular update for the decision.
The report has it that ZTE will only stick to the use of its custom UI on smartphones meant for homeland China where it will also lack Google services. The move aimed at making customers in Europe and other regions happy will see future ZTE phones launching with stock Android Oreo on Project Treble, meaning these upcoming devices will get OS updates at a faster rate than the present crops of Nubia phones.

ZTE wasnt that vocal at the MWC but did reveal a couple of things including ZTE Blade V9, ZTE Blade V9 Vita, three working models of an unannounced smartphone concept designed with a focus on Android gaming. The telecom giant also said it has plans to announce devices with 5G towards the end of 2018 or early 2019.
