Lineage OS russian team will provide custom ROMs for UMIDIGI phones

Lineage OS

LineageOS, who provides the most popular free and open-source operating system for Android, recently claimed through their russian team, that it will provide unofficial ROMs for UMIDIGI phones starting with UMIDIGI S2 Lite to UMIDIGI One, UMIDIGI Z2 and the following models.

Of course the official stance of UMIDIGI is still the same, any user’s unofficial flash machine behavior is at his own risk, and UMIDIGI is not responsible for any resulting problems. At the same time the company is showing confidence in their own official package and are not against the possible modding.

Gizchina News of the week

No matter what it is undoubtedly a piece of good news for the Android enthusiasts. In case that the official ROM couldn’t satisfy users’ needs or when users are tired of it, there is another option from LineageOS to enhance the user experience. Just don’t forget, it’s your own responsibility to meddle with such things.

About Lineage:

LineageOS grows out of CyanogenMod(CM) roots, and the latter is the world’s largest third-party compilation team for Android. CyanogenMod’s core team members along with the founding father Steve Kondik are still working on LineageOS, so to some extent LineageOS is the continuation of the CM.

I just don’t get why they will support these broken phones and not Xiaomi for example.

This is just fake news anyway.
Umi has already being pretending several times before to bring cyanogenmod/linOs, but they never did.
On the other hand, if you search for mediatek custom roms, you’ll notice there’s basically only MADTEAM (MediatekAndroidDevelopers) releasing those… While “srt” never released anything.
