China To Complete First Phase Of 5G Tech Testing In June

In recent times, 5G technology development has been a battleground for all the interested parties. Companies are racing to the finish line and if the procedure continues at this rate, we may be using this tech earlier than expected. Now, according to Liu Du, Dean of Chinese Information and Communication Research Institute, the first phase of 5G testing is scheduled to be completed by June this year. The third phase of China’s 5G R&D trials will be completed by the end of this year with a focus on system verification.

At the same time, China has launched 5G application solicitation contest to solicit the innovative features of 5G applications. Liu Duo said that China started the world’s first 5G testing in Beijing Huairou. At present, China has submitted 32% of the world’s standard 5G contribution documents and 40% of the lead standardization projects. Both the promotion speed and the quality are high globally.

He proposed that 2018 will be a crucial year for 5G standard determination and product development. China will focus on “standardization, research, development, and testing” simultaneously.
